NT Shelter is the peak non-government housing and homelessness advocacy body in the Northern Territory. NT Shelter advocates for appropriate and affordable housing for ALL Territorians particularly disadvantaged groups and those on low incomes.
Our Annual General Meeting will be held in Alice Springs this year on 24th September from 1.15pm at the Centre for Appropriate Technology. All members and guests are welcome.
We are also convening a Forum focussed on Affordable Housing in both Alice Springs and Darwin- Guest speakers include Dr Louise Crabtree from University of Western Sydney speaking on Community Land Trusts and Ashley Fenn from Ethan Affordable Housing discussing the application of NRAS in the NT.
The Alice Forum is from 9am on Friday 24th September, CAT Conference Room- cost is $30 + GST In Darwin the Forum is from 9am on Monday 27th September, Airport Resort - cost is $25 + GST

We have recently developed a set of NT Housing Fact Sheets which is now available for download as a pdf (15.8MB). The Fact Sheets provide data on urban housing costs, vacancy rates, affordability, public housing and homelessness and the cover page offers an index to each of the 23 Fact Sheet pages. The data is current to the March Quarter 2010.
Another new publication is our Who You Gonna Call booklet- a directory of support, accommodation and crisis services in the Darwin region. Please contact NT Shelter to advise of any updates or corrections to the booklet.
